Creative Production Specialist
I ’m Jerry Janquart, a designer and developer who helps publications and organizations bring ideas to life across print, web, and digital publishing systems.
— What I do —
My work sits at the intersection of editorial design, web development, and production workflows. I’m often involved not only in designing and building creative projects, but also in the systems and processes that allow those projects to move from concept to finished product.
In practice, that means my work regularly spans the full lifecycle of a project—from design and development to production and delivery.
Capabilities
- ▪ Editorial design & magazine production
- ▪ Website design & Laravel development
- ▪ Digital publishing workflows
- ▪ Email marketing campaigns
- ▪ Data preparation for shipping & fundraising
- ▪ Conference websites & printed materials
- ▪ Production coordination with printers
- ▪ Subscriber systems & customer support
I have worked extensively with publications such as Touchstone and Salvo, contributing to both their print and digital presence. On any given day I might be designing a magazine cover, preparing files for the printer, building a new feature for a website, launching an email campaign to thousands of readers, or troubleshooting subscriber issues.
My role often extends beyond design and development into the operational side of publishing and nonprofit work. I regularly prepare and export data used for shipping, fulfillment, and fundraising campaigns, manage subscriber communications and customer service issues, and support the digital systems that keep those efforts running smoothly.
I’ve also worked on the technical and design side of conference events, including managing ticketing systems, designing event websites, and producing printed materials used at the conference itself.
— Perspective —
This range of responsibilities has given me a practical understanding of how creative work actually moves through an organization. Design doesn’t happen in isolation—it exists within systems, workflows, deadlines, and real-world constraints. I enjoy building those systems just as much as I enjoy designing the final result.
My technical toolkit includes Laravel, Tailwind, Alpine, and modern web publishing tools, which I use to build clean, maintainable websites and digital products. At the same time, my background in editorial design and print production keeps the focus on clarity, structure, and strong visual communication.
Quartfolio is a collection of work from across those disciplines—graphic design, web development, and digital publishing—along with a few experiments along the way.
Outside of work I live with my wife Julie, our two children, Laney and Logan, and Gary Michael, our extremely photogenic dog.
